Position 1: Adaba Project Branch Office Coordinator
Minimum Requirements:
- BSc Degree in Project Management, Forestry, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field from a recognized university.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in project coordination, community mobilization, income-generating activities, and conservation work.
- Proficiency in GPS and GIS technologies, mapping, and excellent computer skills (Word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Knowledge of the local language is advantageous.
- Location: Addis Ababa
Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate project implementation with relevant stakeholders.
- Build working relationships and act as a development liaison between MELCA, the government, and other key stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives.
- Oversee the implementation of all project activities in the project area by coordinating and providing technical support to the community and project workers.
- Ensure effective management of human, material, and financial resources by collaborating with all stakeholders.
- Conduct surveys, need assessments, and other research activities as required by the head office.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual progress and financial reports in a timely manner.
- Document and file case stories of successful beneficiaries resulting from the project intervention.
Position 2: Adaba Project Branch Office Accountant
Requirements:
- First Degree or Diploma in Accounting.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience for degree holders and 4 years for diploma holders.
- Basic computer skills (MS Word and Excel, etc.).
- Location: Addis Ababa
Responsibilities:
- Maintain financial policy and control systems.
- Participate in project annual budget preparation.
- Ensure payment requests are made according to agreements and within the appropriate budget.
- Verify that required documentation and authorization are present to process payments.
- Follow up on project budget implementation and report to the head office.
- Maintain the project’s fixed assets.
- Prepare and send monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the head office.
- Oversee office management.
