Vacancy 1: Head Of Accounting & Reporting Division (AfCDC)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management/Administration (with a focus on Finance or Accounting) or a related field, with a minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant experience, including seven (7) years at managerial and five (5) years at supervisory levels.
  • Experience working in an International or intergovernmental organization is required.
  • Membership of an internationally recognized professional accounting body such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in SAP and familiarity with other ERP systems is advantageous.

Required Skills:

  • Strong managerial, political, and supervisory skills to achieve established objectives.
  • Ability to foster collaborative approaches among diverse partners.
  • Proficiency in establishing and maintaining effective partnerships internally and externally.

Vacancy 2: Specialist – Obstetrician Gynecologist

Qualifications and Experience:

  • MD, BMBCh, or MBBS degree, with specialization in Obstetrics-Gynecology.
  • Twelve (12) years of post-qualification clinical practice experience, including six (6) years at the expert/specialist level and three (3) years at the supervisor level.
  • Experience in government or private hospitals and International Organizations is essential.
  • Proficiency in Obstetric and Gynecologic ultrasound scans is required.
  • Must be licensed to practice as a Specialist Obstetrician-Gynecologist in their home country or country of residence.
  • Additional qualifications in gynecological subspecialties are advantageous.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in gynecological/Obstetric ultrasonography and modern gynecological endoscopic procedures.
  • Familiarity with international and regional guidelines for managing Obstetric and gynecological conditions.

Vacancy 3: Head of Partnerships and Resource Mobilization

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related fields, with twelve (12) years of progressive experience, including seven (7) years at managerial levels.
  • Additional qualifications in relevant fields are advantageous.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience in resource mobilization and grants management is beneficial.

Vacancy 4: Head of Infectious Diseases Division (AfCDC)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Medical degree with a postgraduate qualification in Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology, Public Health, or related fields.
  • Twelve (12) years of progressive experience in infectious disease prevention, detection, and response, including seven (7) years at managerial levels.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of infectious diseases in Africa.
  • Experience in leadership, project management, policy development, and partnerships.
  • Experience in scientific writing and networking.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in AU official languages.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse environment.

Position 5: Head of Partnership & International Cooperation (AfCDC) Qualifications and Experience Needed • A Master’s degree from a recognized university in Development Studies, Public Health/Health Systems Management, International Relations, Strategic Management, Public Policy, International Development, or a related field is essential. • Twelve (12) years of relevant professional experience, with a minimum of seven (7) years in managerial roles and five (5) years in supervisory positions. • Demonstrated track record of cultivating partnerships and fostering business growth, including the ability to identify potential collaborators, negotiate agreements, and finalize partnerships that align with the goals of Africa CDC. • Experience in overseeing offices, managing projects, programs, and portfolios. • Proven ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and decision-makers in various technical and professional contexts.

Essential Skills • Strong networking skills, capable of establishing and nurturing connections with potential donors and partners. • Exceptional diplomatic, representational, interpersonal, and communication abilities. • Proficiency in technical writing, translating complex information into presentations, briefings, reports, and funding proposals for diverse audiences. • Adaptability and effectiveness in collaborating with partners from different organizational backgrounds (international, governmental, non-governmental) at global, regional, and national levels. • Resourcefulness in collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to inform and communicate technical decisions to non-specialist audiences. • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a multicultural environment. • High level of judgment, accountability, and initiative. • Integrity, tact, and discretion in handling sensitive matters. • Proficiency in one of the AU working languages (English, French, Arabic, Kiswahili, Portuguese, or Spanish) is required, with fluency in English and knowledge of additional languages considered advantageous.

Position 6: Principal Knowledge Management Officer (AfCDC)

Qualifications and Experience Needed Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Management, Knowledge Management, or a related field, along with ten (10) years of relevant and progressively responsible experience, including at least six (6) years at an expert level and three (3) years in a supervisory capacity. OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Management, Knowledge Management, or a related field, with twelve (12) years of relevant and progressively responsible experience, including at least six (6) years at an expert level and three (3) years in a supervisory role. Experience in Knowledge Management within a Public Health Institution is desirable.

Required Skills • Proven ability to manage and coordinate complex projects. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. • Fluency in one of the AU working languages (English, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, or Kiswahili), with proficiency in English and French preferred.
