IT Support Role Summary

Primary Focus:

  • Computer operations
  • User and desktop support (hardware and software)
  • Help desk and data management


  • Perform a variety of moderately complex IT support tasks to ensure smooth delivery of technology services.
  • Utilize computer equipment, software, and diagnostic tools for customer assistance, production job processing, equipment maintenance and repair, and computer operations.
  • Manage tasks with minimal supervision, occasionally acting as a lead when necessary.
  • Update supervisors on project statuses or technical issues.
  • Apply judgment and creativity in selecting and implementing procedures, and determine when to escalate issues to higher levels of support.
  • Provide information to students, staff, faculty, or the general public regarding established policies, procedures, or services offered.
