Position 1: Executive Head of Department Public Affairs (EHOD) Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, law, economics, communication, or related field.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in government or corporate settings.
  • Established relationships with stakeholders in the region.
  • Proficient in the region’s working language.
  • Familiarity with the socioeconomic and political landscape of the region, preferably with prior work experience in the area.
  • Experience in community engagement within the region.

Role Overview: The EHOD will lead the planning and execution of public affairs strategies in the region. Responsibilities include managing regional government relations, CSR initiatives, media oversight, coordinating regional activities, community engagement, supporting ESG implementation, and representing Safaricom Ethiopia to achieve commercial objectives and mitigate operational risks, aligning with the goal of advancing digital Ethiopia.

Location: Adama, Bahir Dar, Dire Dawa, Hawassa, Jimma

Position 2: Public Affairs Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, law, economics, communication, or related field.
  • Over 7 years of relevant experience in government or corporate settings.
  • Established relationships with stakeholders in the region.
  • Proficient in the region’s working language.
  • Familiarity with the socioeconomic and political landscape of the region, preferably with prior work experience in the area.
  • Experience in community engagement within the region.

Role Overview: The Public Affairs Manager will oversee public affairs activities, including regional government relations, CSR initiatives, media management, coordination of regional activities, community engagement, support for ESG implementation, and representation of Safaricom Ethiopia in the region to achieve commercial objectives and manage operational risks, in line with the digital Ethiopia agenda.
