Position 1: Resource Coordination Assistant

Duties:

The Resource Coordinator operates under the direct supervision of the Public Affairs Officer (or PAO designee) with no supervisory responsibilities. Serving as the primary USAU Public Diplomacy LE Staff, the individual is accountable for the financial, programmatic, human, and property resources supporting Public Diplomacy (PD) initiatives and programs within the U.S. Journey to the African Union and spanning the entire African continent. This role involves overseeing multiple and diverse funding streams, ensuring compliance with relevant USG regulations and host-country laws. The Resource Coordinator manages grants, contracts, and the procurement and utilization of PD Section supplies and equipment. Additionally, they act as the primary liaison for the PD Section with the Management Section and offices, coordinating resource requirements with regional PD bureaus.

Qualifications and Evaluations:

Experience: A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in a significant organization in budgeting, accounting, business administration, financial management, organizational management, public administration, project management, or grants administration is required.

Education: A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Financial Management, Organizational Management, Accounting, or Public Administration is required.

Position 2: Maintenance Mechanic (Generator Mechanics – NEC)

Duties:

Reporting to the Electrical Controls Technician, the incumbent is employed as the Maintenance Mechanic – Generator to perform skilled maintenance and repair work on prime and stand-by emergency generators for the New Embassy Compound (NEC) and residential-owned/leased properties. They respond to scheduled, unscheduled, and preventive maintenance work orders generated by the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Qualifications and Evaluations:

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of prime or standby power generators for large industrial properties, such as high-rise office buildings, hospitals, school campuses, or local utility companies, is required. One year of this experience should be in the operations, maintenance, and repair of 1000 KVA or larger generators.

Education: Completion of secondary school is required. Completion of the training program from an accredited institute recognized for producing power generation diesel engine mechanics is required.

Note: Please include all copies of your Education under “High School Diploma or equivalent.” If you have a certificate in power generation diesel engine mechanics, please include it under “Trade School Course Certificate.”
