Job Title: Human Resources Officer
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business management, international relations, psychology, or a related field is mandatory.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in human resource management within an international organization or large corporation.
- Prior work experience in developing countries, particularly in Ethiopia, is essential.
- Familiarity with emergency operations is considered an advantage.
- Proficiency in English and Amharic is required, and knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Business Partnering:
- Conduct research on policies and analyze data to support HR Business Partners in advising clients on HR-related needs and developing action plans.
- Provide timely and accurate advice to clients on HR processes and policies, ensuring a high level of client-orientation.
- Proactively guide clients in resolving HR issues with equitable and transparent solutions in line with policies and procedures.
Strategic Human Resources:
- Collaborate with HQ Divisions, regional, and country offices to contribute to corporate HR strategy formulation and global implementation.
- Offer feedback and recommendations on the establishment and improvement of HR systems, policies, and processes.
- Stay updated on best practices in HR management, conducting research, benchmarking, and implementing innovative practices globally.
Support in Implementation of Human Resources Services:
- Assist in various HR functions (recruitment, job classification, career development, performance management, data analytics, learning & development, etc.) to ensure efficient client services.
- Analyze and synthesize casework, providing recommendations or further actions required.
Learning and Capacity Development:
- Work with business owners to design and deliver learning plans for staff.
- Contribute to competency mapping for staff in the assigned client portfolio, supporting talent pipeline development.
- Research and recommend cost-effective learning products for skill and competency development.
- Participate as a resource person in capacity-building initiatives for clients/stakeholders and provide orientation briefings to new staff.
HR Data Analytics:
- Collect, interpret, and analyze HR data to inform decision-making on HR processes and strategies.
- Coordinate with country offices and partners to assist in HR information management.
