The National Bank of Ethiopia was established in 1963 through Proclamation 206 of 1963 and commenced operations in January 1964. Prior to this proclamation, the Bank engaged in both commercial and central banking activities. The proclamation increased the Bank’s capital to Ethiopian 10.0 million and granted extensive administrative autonomy and legal character.

As the financial sector experiences rapid growth, demanding efficient management and oversight, the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) is planning to construct branches in selected cities across the country. To fulfill this objective, the Bank is seeking qualified Construction Projects Coordinators for each branch construction site.

Position 1: Administrative Assistant I

Job Description:

Welcome and direct visitors, including staff and customers.
Type reports and periodic performance reports.
Manage and organize files and documents.
Coordinate office facilities (stationery and supplies).
Organize meetings, take minutes, and prepare meeting reports.
Handle incoming and outgoing correspondences.
Prepare and distribute letters/memos as instructed.
Follow up on timely dispatch of outgoing letters.
Register outgoing letters and maintain copies in the proper files.
Produce and distribute correspondence, memos, letters, faxes, research documents, and others.
Perform other assigned duties.
Job Requirements:

Diploma or Level IV in relevant fields.
No prior experience required, CoC Level IV mandatory.
Age not exceeding 40 years.


Position 2: Senior Administrative Assistant

Job Description:

Review incoming memos, submissions, and reports to determine significance and plan distribution.
Prioritize outgoing and incoming correspondence (email, letters, packages, etc.).
Handle the organization, categorization, and dissemination of incoming communications, such as faxes and emails.
Welcome visitors and assess their access to designated individuals.
Coordinate travel plans for executives.
Offer administrative and clerical assistance to the office.
Facilitate office services and supplies.
Organize meetings, take minutes, and prepare reports.
Schedule or follow-up appointments.
Manage documents and files based on cataloging.
Maintain professional communication via phone, email, and mail.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:

Fluency in English and Amharic.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Extensive knowledge of office management and clerical procedures.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in basic computer applications.
Ability to work under pressure.
Proven ability to handle confidential information.
Job Requirements:

Completion of a diploma or higher education in relevant fields is required.
Candidates with 7/3 years of pertinent experience are eligible for those holding a diploma or a first-degree.
Experience in the finance sector is preferred.
Diploma holders must possess a CoC Level IV certification as a mandatory requirement.

Position 3: Executive Secretary

Job Description:

Provide high-level administrative support to Executive Management.
Receive and review incoming memos, submissions, and reports.
Handle outgoing and incoming correspondence.
Welcome and greet customers and visitors.
Arrange travel arrangements for executive management.
Facilitate office services and supplies.
Organize executive or senior management meetings.
Schedule or follow-up appointments.
Manage documents and files based on cataloging.
Maintain professional communication via phone, email, and mail.
Perform other assigned duties.
Required Skills & Abilities:

Fluency in English and Amharic.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Extensive knowledge of office management and clerical procedures.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in basic computer applications.
Ability to work under pressure.
Proven ability to handle confidential information.
Job Requirements:

Diploma and above in relevant fields.
8/4 years of relevant experience for diploma or 1st-degree holder.
At least 2 years and above as Executive Secretary or equivalent.
CoC Level IV mandatory for diploma holders.


Position 4: Internal Control Officer

Job Description:

Thoroughly check documents for payment and settlement before entry.
Ensure approved funds align with the bank’s delegation of authority.
Conduct control functions, review and approve disbursement requests and other requests.
Periodically audit the accounting and financial records of various work units.
Confirm and uphold internal control verifications and documentation.

Make recommendations for improvement in various aspects.
Monitor and provide advice to management to reduce risks from poor controls.
Perform duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Required Skills and Abilities:

Ability to work to deadlines, under pressure.
Effective communication and analytical thinking.
Report writing skills.
Good knowledge of basic computer applications.
Knowledge in business risk management, IFRS.
Job Requirements:

1st Degree or above in relevant fields.
4/2 years of relevant experience for 1st degree and 2nd-degree holders, respectively.
Age not exceeding 40 years.
