Position: IT Coordinator
Job Overview/Summary:
The IT Department plays a crucial role in supporting the IRC’s global operations by ensuring reliable and scalable technology infrastructure across its offices worldwide, including in challenging environments. The IT Coordinator will oversee all IT service functions at IRC Country Offices, ensuring effective implementation, support, and compliance with global IT policies and procedures. Collaborating closely with the Regional IT Director (RITD) is essential for maintaining alignment. Additionally, the IT Coordinator will establish communication channels with other departments to address IT needs promptly.
As the country program transitions its operations to Ethiopia, the IT Coordinator will develop a comprehensive transition plan covering IT budgeting, staffing, capacity building, support, and project management. Reporting to the Director of Operations and receiving technical support from the Regional IT Director, the IT Coordinator will be responsible for IT operations and strategic oversight at the Ethiopia Office.
Major Responsibilities:
Install and support specialized applications such as Integra, Box, Sun Systems, BVA, Workday, and Rescue web.
Provide technical consultancy for IT procurement, ensuring compliance with IRC standards.
Participate in annual budget planning and allocate resources for necessary IT investments.
Serve as the IT Lead for country office programs and oversee IT staff recruitment, training, and performance management.
Conduct regular training sessions for end-users on IRC tools and applications.
Foster collaboration between Programs and IT departments to integrate technology effectively into program outcomes.
Utilize existing dashboards and analytics tools to interpret data for informed decision-making.
Collaborate with M&E teams to develop and manage relevant Power BI dashboards.
Ensure accurate documentation of network infrastructure, asset management, and knowledge base materials.
Resolve level 1 and 2 IT incidents and escalate complex issues to relevant experts.
Promote information security best practices and awareness among staff.
Drive the migration of critical operations and applications to the cloud.
Partner with SMEs in DevOps, Data, Security, NOC, Engineering, and PMO to advance IT strategic priorities.
Advocate for IT initiatives in leadership meetings, grants, and proposal sessions.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
Promote staff engagement, inclusion, and cohesion within IRC teams.
Support ongoing learning and reflection to strengthen safeguarding practices and uphold IRC values.
Job Requirements:
MSc/BSc degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
Preferred Experience & Skills:
6/5 years of experience with NGOs or international organizations.
Minimum four years of management experience.
Proficiency in Windows 10, MS Office 365, Sophos Anti-Virus, and cloud computing platforms like MS Azure.
Familiarity with LAN, WAN, and VSAT technologies (C and KU band).
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
